Things will look a bit different this year...

As we gear up for the 2020-2021 Training Year, things are shaping up very differently than years past. With the current Global Pandemic of COVID-19 still very much a problem, every effort is being made to run the cadet program while ensuring we do not become a vector for transmission. To make sure that is possible, a few key changes have been made: -There will be no in-person training until at least 1 Oct 20. In-person activities may only resume when approved by the RCSU Commanding Officer, when it can be ensured that Squadrons have adequate measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

-Virtual Training may commence on 1 Sept 20

-There will be no overnight training activities until further notice

-Travel is limited to a 1 hour radius from the regular parade location

So what does this mean for our Squadron and the youth of Fort McMurray? To put it simply, we need to be flexible! We unfortunately have the added challenge of building recovery post flooding in the downtown core. We have not been able to return to the build yet and lost many items that were stored in our supply.

Right now, we are commencing virtual training and hope to be approved to begin limited in-person activities sometime in October, once we have both access to the Boys & Girls Club and approval from our Change of Command.

Not a member of the Squadron yet - but thinking about joining? Visit our "Enrolment" page to find all the documentation required to join the Cadet Program. Or, you can always reach out to us for more information!
